PrYSM’s newest program, Rhode Island Civic Engagement (RICE) is empowering Southeast Asian refugees with deportation orders to fight for their right to stay with their families. RICE will work with CDP to hold legal clinics with criminal defense and immigration attorneys, as well as provide organizing and mental health resources. Civic Engagement will be a tool PrYSM uses to raise awareness about SEA deportations, while connecting those directly impacted to a larger deportation defense movement in New England and across the country.
