The SEARR (Southeast Asian Relief & Responsibility) Campaign continues a decades long effort to free our people from generational cycles of displacement and heal our communities from this collective trauma. We embark on a multi-year campaign aiming to win concrete relief for our people by 2025, which marks the 50th year anniversary of the end of the US wars in Southeast Asia. This campaign seeks to hold the U.S. accountable for the harm and violence inflicted on our people.

Counselors Not Cops

Counselors Not Cops (CNC) is the demand to remove all School Resource Officers (SROs) from Providence Public schools, and instead hire health and safety staff focused on alternative measures for conflict resolution. Our goal is to create safe and healthy schools through Positive Safety and Conduct strategies, which includes hiring health and safety staff who focus on alternative measures for conflict resolution.

OurSchoolsPVD (OSPVD) is an alliance of youth-led organizations and their allies with the goal of ensuring that state control of the Providence Public School District (PPSD) results in an educationally just and equitable system that adequately serves and centers the voices and leadership of all students and families, particularly youth and families of color, low-income people, immigrants, multilingual learners, and students with disabilities.

Currently, OurSchoolsPVD is fighting for Ethnic Studies at PPSD. Our demands include more teachers of color, expansive curriculum, project-based, and more. Read our full demands and sign the petition on Change.org.

The COMMUNITY SAFETY ACT (A.K.A. CSA)

Also known as the Community Police Relations Act, this ordinance is NOT about improving community & police relationship, but rather about holding Providence Police Department accountable for the harm & violence they inflict on our community. Check our Resources page for full policy changes or check out the CSA website!
