Friends, Comrades!

The time has finally come, I'm going to Cambodia!

My blog will have up-to-the-minute photos and videos, capturing my encounters with American exiles and deportees, a blossoming LGBTQ community, Khmers and ethnic minorities and hill tribes, extravagant markets and tropical fruits, Cambodia's dark genocidal past, and its uncertain future - a global struggle for power between NGOs, global capitalism (tourism, logging, exploitation), the Khmer Rouge and a corrupt dynasty, and freedom fighters for social justice. And simply, beautiful ordinary peoples who are living their lives! I only have two-weeks, and I hope this is the first of many visits.

My trip is part of a year-long fellowship, funded by the Institute for Non-Profit Excellence, a program of the Rhode Island Foundation.
