I'm Sarath Suong, a founder, member, and recent staff of PrYSM. My family fled Cambodia during the civil war and escaped to the Khao I Dang refugee camp in nearby Thailand. I was born on July 21st, 1980 and about 4 years later, my family immigrated to Boston, MA. We grew up in a small Cambodian community in the city of Revere. That's where I got my Boston accent and that's where I got my passion for organizing. I went to Brown University in 1998 and met my best friend, Kohei Ishihara. We started learning more about the Providence Southeast Asian American community and met many young people who wanted to change things. I love food, comics, graphic design, and 90s music. And I really, really love a good bowl of hot, spicy, and sour samlaw machou kreung.

Yat, Mr. Mahper
Spicy, homecooked Khmer food, almost all Chinese, Vietnamese, some Lao, and Dimple's mom's South Asian food. Japanese food is too plain for me. I love all kinds of fruits, veggies, and meat. I can't handle potatoes, pasta, cheese, or dough (American food)...yuck. Pastries once in a while.
A Long Day's Journey Into Night, X-Men and Marvel Comics, Autobiography of Malcolm X, Blu's Hanging, and whole lot more. I read alot and I read often...it just can't be boring.
Contact, Apocalypto, Requiem for a Dream, City of God, La Quincinera, X-Men 1-3, Transformers (the original cartoon movie)...I love cartoons, hate romantic comedies, and find horror movies boring.
